The website medpharmasci.com (hereinafter referred to as “Website“) belongs to Wordformula Consulting, Lda. (hereinafter referred to as “Worformula“). See the full address in Terms and Conditions.

This privacy policy refers only to the use of the Website. The privacy policies referring to the use of other websites that belong to Wordformula are published in their respective privacy policies.

Wordformula is the data controller of the personal data collected through the Website.

Wordformula respects the privacy of all Users of the Website (hereinafter referred to as “Users“) and has implemented measures intended to protect personal data that the Users send to Wordformula. These measures aim at ensuring that the Users are aware of all personal data that they send to Wordformula, as well as of the processing that this data is subjected to.

The Users are in control of their personal data as data subjects.

This privacy policy aims to be transparent and complies with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR).

Personal data collected on specific cases

Security logs

Our server monitors Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of its visitors in order to prevent abuse, attacks and malicious activities. The IP addresses of Users with harmful activity will be blocked; the logs containing IP addresses are rotated every 3 months and during this process all IP addresses are anonymized. We will not combine these IP addresses with other identifiers or request information from Users’ Internet Service Providers (ISP) in order to identify the Users. The Website is part of a network of sites that protects against distributed brute force attacks; to enable this protection, the IP addresses of visitors attempting and failing to log into administration panels of the Website are shared with a service provided at ithemes.com; for privacy policy details of this service, please see the iThemes Privacy Policy.
Basis for IP address monitoring: legitimate interest; it helps us maintain the Website, its visitors and the whole Web more secure.

Browsing and access to contents of the Website

We collect Users’ IP address, localization, device, browser, operative system, browsing behavior and ISP and share it with third-party tools (Google Analytics, acting as data processor) exclusively to monitor the performance and traffic of the Website. The IP addresses are anonymized before storage on the Google servers. The Users can opt-out from this data collection. Read our Cookie policy for more details. This anonymous data is stored for two years.

Messages sent through contact forms or directly by email

If the Users contact us directly via email or use our contact form (which also ends up with the Users’ email addresses and messages in the inbox of our email address), the Users will be sharing their email addresses with us. We will use them just to follow up Users’ queries. We will not share or sell Users’ email addresses.

All other information that the Users write on the message of the contact form or in the body of a direct email to us will be used strictly to follow up Users’ queries. We will not share with or sell it to third parties.

Newsletter subscription forms

The Users that apply to subscribe to newsletters will share with us their email address with the purposes of receiving periodical updates on the contents available online or information about tools, products or services that may be of their interest. We share these data with third-party tools (newsletter management platforms, who act as personal data processors) for the purposes of automation. These data will be kept until the Users request the cancellation of their subscription; this cancellation may be easily conducted by clicking on a hyperlink present in each newsletter or by contacting Wordformula directly (see «Right to be forgotten»).

Reading contents of the Website

We use fonts from Google (Google Fonts) in order to let the Users read fonts that are easy to read and fast to load. This Google tool allows Users to load the fonts fast and, if the Users have previously visited any website with those same fonts (and thus transferred the fonts previously from Google servers), the Users will not have to transfer them again, which speeds up the navigation experience at a global level. The transfer of the fonts is conducted directly from Google servers when the Users open this Website; in this process, Google has access to the Users’ IP and acts as a data controller. This Website does not control the data collected by Google in this process (see Google’s privacy policy).

Visualization of advertisements

The Website contains advertisements, which are shown to the Users along with the actual content of the Website.

Visualization of non-tailored advertisements

In order to show non-tailored advertisements, we collect and share with third parties (advertising network management platforms) the identification of the Users’ device so that these third parties can combine that information with a non-precise location (e.g. at city level) with the purposes of showing advertisements related to the content of the Website with a certain degree of geographical targeting. Visualization of tailored advertisements

In order to show tailored advertisements, we collect and share with third parties (advertising network management platforms) the identification of the User’s device so that these third parties can combine this information with data that they already hold (e.g. search history, activity on websites or apps, demographics ou location) with the purposes of tailoring the advertisements shown so that it is more interesting and customized to the Users. The Users may opt-out from this data collection. Read our cookie policy for further details. For this service, we share the collected Users’ data with the following ad technology providers.

Use of social network tools

The Website contains tools that allow the Users to use social network features directly from the Website (e.g. «Like», «Comment» or «Share» a post on those social networks); these features consist of a small part of the social networks embedded in the Website. In order to show these features, the Users’ browser loads the necessary code directly from those social networks and then the browser displays the features integrated in the Website. In order to display these features, those social networks install cookies (in this context, third-party cookies) or other tracking technologies in the Users’ browser. In the case of Users with an active session in the social networks, these cookies send to those social networks information on the Users’ identification, the Web page that the Users are reading, the date, the hour and other information related to the browser. In the case of Users without an active session in the social networks, the Users’ browser sends to the social networks a smaller data set. In both cases, the social networks will receive the IP address of the Users. The Users may opt-out from this data collection, but will not be able to use these features. Users’ rights

The Users are entitled to all rights provided for in the GDPR regarding their personal data, including the following:

Right to consent

In order to collect personal data from Users, Wordformula will ask for their explicit, concise, free and informed consent; such consent will be provided by means of an obvious and unambiguous action or statement.

Right of access and rectification

The Users have the right to access to the personal data that Wordformula holds on their respect. The Users will be able to correct or complement their data as adequate. The Users should contact Wordformula specifying exactly what they want. Upon receipt of such request and once Wordformula has checked the identification of the User (so as to verify that the user requesting the data is in fact the data subject), Wordformula will provide the User with the User’s personal data held by then and the User will be completely free to analyse it; should the User want to rectify the data, the User should just inform Wordformula about that intention.

Right to data portability

The Users have the right to request their personal data held by Wordformula to be transferred to another company.

Right to be forgotten

Should the Users want their personal data to be deleted from Wordformula’s records, they should just contact Wordformula using one of the contact methods below; whenever such process does not interfere with freedom of expression, legitimate interests or other legal provisions in force, it will be accepted.

Right to object

Should the Users object to the use of their personal data by Wordformula under legitimate interest, the Users may object to such use; Wordformula may demonstrate the legitimate interest behind such use.

Exercise of rights

The Users’ requests to exercise their rights are free from any fees. Such requests will get answered and dealt with by Wordformula without unjustified delay.

Data breach

Should Wordformula become aware of any situation that endangers the integrity of personal data collected or that represents a risk to data subjects, Wordformula will strive to contact immediately the data subjects affected and alert the National Commission of Data Protection.

Sensitive data

Wordformula does neither request nor aims to request user data that falls into sensitive categories (i.e. information about health, race, sexual orientation, religion or political opinion) through the Website.

Privacy of children

Wordformula does neither request nor aims to request personal data from people under legal age through the Website.

Links to third-party websites

The Website may contain links to websites or apps that belong to third parties. Each of these websites will have their own use and privacy policies; Wordformula is not responsible for the interaction that the Users may have in those third-party websites and encourages the Users to read their policies.

Changes to this privacy policy

Wordformula may change the terms of this policy from time to time. Such changes will be reflected on this page; the Users can and should check this page upon every visit to the Website. If the use of certain personal data is changed, the Users affected will receive a notification in order to allow or deny such new use before the enforcement of those changes.

Additional information

Wordformula takes all reasonable measures to ensure that the transfer of personal data between the Users and Wordformula is made on a private and secure manner, e.g. by using SSL certificates and data encryption. The Users should also make sure that such transfer is not violated by external factors such as the presence of viruses or Trojans on their devices.

Wordformula studies all its processes and makes all reasonable efforts to minimize the amount of personal data that is necessary for each specific objective.

Wordformula encourages its Users to be responsible and diligent during Web browsing and to maintain their devices updated and protected.

Wordformula plans data protection by design and by default, making sure that the provision of new services and activities or new features for its existing services and activities carries the implementation of the relevant data protection measures, from the early stages of development.

Personal data is stored in secure servers and devices, which are protected by the implementation of reasonable security measures.
